Michelle Reid, Esq.Consultant Washington, D.C.  Michelle Reid, Esq., a former federal government attorney, joined EPS in 2008. Michelle began her legal career with the Department of Justice, working in the labor law branch of the Justice’s Bureau of Prisons division. Michelle assisted attorneys in representing management in various matters involving labor/management and personnel issues. In October 2000, Michelle joined the Social Security Administration (SSA). In addition to social security disability matters, Michelle was responsible for investigating the merits of equal employment opportunity claims brought against the Agency and presenting the Agency’s case before an Administrative Judge. Michelle also advised management officials on multifaceted employment litigation matters that emerged within the Agency.
During her tenure with SSA, Michelle gained significant experience as an instructor and as a law advisor for Concord Law School. Michelle has also been certified as a mediator by the Dispute Mediation Service, Inc. in Dallas in compliance with Chapter 154 of the Texas Civil Practices and Remedies Code.
Michelle earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Louisville on a full academic scholarship. Later, Michelle received her law degree from Howard University School of Law in Washington, DC. During law school, Michelle served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review and received numerous awards for her outstanding achievements in Legal Writing. Michelle is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and belongs to the Employment and Labor Sections of the State Bar of Georgia and the American Bar Association. |
