Katie Colvin, Esq. is an accomplished employment lawyer with unique training, investigation, and counseling skills gained by practicing employment law in-house, at a private law firm, and for the City of Chicago.
Katie rejoined EPS in June 2011 after leaving in 2008 to become a member of the legal team at CDW - a leading provider of business technology solutions. As Corporate Counsel, Katie supported the employee-relations needs of over 6,300 employees throughout the United States and Canada.
Prior to joining CDW, Katie worked with EPS from 2006 to 2008 as a Consultant in Chicago. She specialized in conducting training and investigations for a variety of clients nationwide and in Canada.
Before her initial engagement with EPS, Katie practiced employment law for five years with the Chicago office of Vedder Price where she advised employers on all aspects of the employer/employee relationship, including: hiring practices, performance evaluations, promotions, performance improvement plans, employee misconduct, policy development and review, and terminations. She also represented employers in a wide range of employment cases before federal and state courts and agencies.
After graduating from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Katie served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago in the Labor Division for two years.
Throughout her career, Katie has conducted numerous investigations into employee complaints involving executive-level, managerial, and lower-level employees. Katie has significant experience in training management and non- managerial employees on a variety of useful topics including Harassment and Discrimination Avoidance, Appropriate Workplace Behavior, and Performance Management– in both group and in one-on-one settings. |
