Carolyn Scully O’Gara, Esq., joined EPS in 2010 with an extensive background in employment practices. Carolyn (Carrie) previously worked with Daley & George, Ltd., in Chicago, practicing Employment and General Corporate Law.
At Daley & George, Carrie represented and advised clients on a variety of human resources issues. She has litigated a broad range of employment matters before federal, state, and administrative agencies. Specifically, she specialized in race discrimination and ADA issues when litigating in front of the Department of Human Rights and Human Rights Commission. She also advised employers on the cost benefit of preventing and settling litigation of employee complaints.
Other areas of interest for Carrie include drafting, revising, and assisting clients in determining the effective use of employee handbooks, employee assistance programs, and policies. She is also experienced with corporate formation and dissolution processes and represented clients in a variety of disputes including breach of contract, consumer fraud, restrictive employment covenants, TRO’s, insurance coverage, trade secret violations, and declaratory and injunctive relief. Carrie has authored articles and presented at conferences on the issue of Equal Pay and The Lilly Ledbetter Act. Carrie has also provided training on Managing Workplace Conflict and Bullying in the Workplace.
Carrie is a Chicago native. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Illinois and received her law degree from Chicago Kent College of Law in 1988. |
