EPS Responds to the Trump Administration’s Executive Order on Combating Race and Sex Stereotyping

On September 22, 2020, President Trump issued his Executive Order on Combating Race and Sex Stereotyping. On October 12, 2020, Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia issued remarks further clarifying the administration’s position saying, “[The Order] does not prohibit workplace training about non-discrimination and equal opportunity—that training is important, the Labor Department encourages it, and in some instances we require it. Nor does the Order prohibit the diversity training offered by countless American employers.”

For almost 25 years, EPS has collaborated with organizations nationwide to build respect through high-quality training - including training that explores and addresses issues of harassment, discrimination, and bias. Earlier this year following the killing of George Floyd and others, we reaffirmed and deepened our own commitment to create more just organizations and communities. We are proud to continue our work in providing training that includes spaces for conversation and reflection to assist in combating racism and systemic disadvantage, and to build respectful, diverse, equitable, and inclusive organizations.
