California Specific Training

Employers in the state of California must comply with AB 1825, a California bill which mandates that “all California employers with 50 or more employees must provide two hours of sexual harassment prevention training (excluding breaks) to their supervisors and managers every two years starting in 2005.”

California employers are thus obligated to hold a two-hour session for all current supervisors and managers every two years. Any newly hired supervisors or individuals who are promoted to be supervisors need to be trained within six months of obtaining supervisory status. Many employers also include employees and contractors in these sessions.
