Laurie R. Jones, Esq., SPHR, Senior Consultant, utilizes her legal background in employment law to aid organizations in proactively addressing employee relations’ issues. As a founding partner and co-owner of EPS, she spends the majority of her time supervising investigations and expert witness projects performed by EPS personnel nationwide. With extensive experience in designing and conducting employment practices training, investigations and policies on employment relations’ matters, she assists Fortune 100 companies, government entities and other clients with human resources consulting.
Laurie has been a featured speaker and author on employment topics on numerous occasions. A noted expert in the area of training and employment practices, Laurie has been published in business and legal publications and is a frequent reference for reporters in the media. She is a co-author of the book Prevent Workplace Harassment: Proven Policies that Keep Your Company Out of Court (Aspen Publishing, 2002), RealSolutions® web-based training courses, and other EPS training media, including the DVD's and videos, Real Solutions®: Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace - Employee Sensitivity Version; and Real Solutions®: Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace - Management Issues Version. She has also consulted and testified as an Employment Practices Expert in numerous cases in both federal and state courts nationwide.
After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law, Laurie worked in Littler Mendelson’s national employment and labor law practice (Dallas office). As an employment attorney, she counseled clients on how to manage their workforce in compliance with applicable equal opportunity, wage and hour, immigration and labor laws. During that time, Laurie represented clients in numerous complaints before federal and state courts, federal and state agencies and in internal employee complaints. Finally, Laurie has conducted many courses on various employment law topics and investigated employee complaints.
Laurie is certified by the Human Resources Certification Institute as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Texas Bar and is a member of the Society of Human Resource Professionals, at both the national and local levels. |
